In the first month of learning Zi Wei Dou Shu, there is only one goal: making Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches an instinctive response in your mind rather than something requiring a lookup table every time. According to basic theory, the core knowledge to master includes: the Five Element attributes of the ten Heavenly Stems (Jia-Yi Wood → Bing-Ding Fire → Wu-Ji Earth → Geng-Xin Metal → Ren-Gui Water) and their Yin-Yang distinctions. The sequential order of the twelve Earthly Branches (Zi, Chou, Yin, Mao, Chen, Si, Wu, Wei, Shen, You, Xu, Hai) and their six conflicting pairs (Zi-Wu conflict, Chou-Wei conflict, etc. ), and the concept of the Five Element Cycle s (Water Two Cycle, Wood Three Cycle, Metal Four Cycle, Earth Five Cycle, Fire Six Cycle.
